Thanks for your help troubleshooting this, Khan!

Have not had a freeze or any memory issues in the new executable so far. Looks like it's fixed.

Thanks for the save. So, the feezes and memory usage issues you've mentioned seem to be resolved, can you confirm? If so, I think we can close this topic. However, if you find any performance or memory usage issue let me know.

Hi Adam,
Have another save for you. Nothing extraordinary, just a continuation of the previous session I uploaded, with save file included.Attached Files:

Nevermind about the sound, one of the hazards of living in a house with 3 teenage wannabe technophiles and a non-technically inclined wife who's not afraid of mucking with equipment when she shouldn't. Someone managed to change the setting of my sound card (first time for that one). Sorry for the false alarm. Found it when I began running diagnostics.

Music is off, sound is set to 85% of scale.

About your finds in ruins in a new game, well, I guess you were unlucky this time When the found ship one is implemented it should be quite a boon, especially in the early game.
Thanks! -
Hi Adam,
I have some stats from a fresh game I started that should give you an idea of the memory usage and such. It is much better behaved than the vanilla pre-Alpha 10. The only problems I have found is that the sound is not present in the new game, and the exploration of specials seems (at least in this game) to be rather crappy than in previous ones (have gotten several "you got 218 BC", one info about a star system, one (not implemented) found a ship, and no special weapons ( I loved those special weapons).Attached Files:

Hi Adam Solo,
Took your file and played it out to turn 405, no hangs and did not pester me to pick another tech. Seems playing from my old save (turn where the game wants you to pick another tech) cannot be played, you have to pick an earlier turn. That being said, the save you provided is like it was from an alternate universe. I'm still at peace with everyone wherein the train of games I've been playing was a 3 way free-for-all where I had conquered the yellow player and red was on his way to falling.
I'll try to do more this weekend with the new executable. -
It seems that we should probably release the next version with an installer. -
It's not in the previous release either. Maybe forgot to set a compiler switch?
I notice that yours is version 2017.1.1f1, the version of Unity I have is a bit more recent (2017.3.1.7445), so I hesitate to use mine. Nevermind, still can't find it even with it in the same folder as the other dlls. (Managed, Mono, etc., taken from win64_nondevelopment_mono)
No rush.Last edited: Jul 31, 2018 -
Thanks!
We know where the memory fill-up event and consequent freeze happened to you, the one of your latest freeze and report, where the log was full of "0" entries. So, we implemented a quick workaround for the time being.
In the meantime, I've built PA10 with this workaround as a patch (PA10a), so that hopefuly you will be able to play your current games without this problem. I've sent you the link via private conversation.
Let us know if the freezes persist with this new build. And if they do, please tell us any details you can give us, as for the save and the output_log.txt so we can check what else may be causing them.
Thanks!Attached Files:

Reloaded 366, did not spiral out of control (i.e. hang) but I did notice an increase in memory usage that did not spiral out of control. I also had a better Performance Monitor dataset running in case things blew up, which I attached.

Got an easy one for you. The game we've been talking about is the first in which I managed to research all the tech before the end of the game (which at the rate the game is going would only be 10 turns max. anyways). The bug is that once everything has been researched, you can't go on to the next turn. The game wants you to pick a research, but you can't because everything has been researched.
I have to go barbecue for the family now, after that I'll try to reload turn 366 and see what happens. -
Having the music turned off should not be related to this issue. The audio warning is one of the last long entries on output_log.txt, but the issue starts after that. It is related with the terrain generation process, which occurs when a system is visited for the first time. For some reason, you're getting values that cause an infinite loop in some cases, causing all of those "0" log entries. We're investigating this and should be able to solve the issue soon. -
The symptoms has manifested itself every game I've played. I did not try reproducing it, though I can if your wish. Does the fact that I have the music turned off have anything to do with it?
